I'm a chinese php fans with 2-year experience.
I think most phper need this feature.
It has aleady been exists in other languages like ASP and JSP.
We may call it application.
It may make many things easier like count the on line customers.
I think it should be joined as a global var like $_APPLICATION.
A simple example:

if(!isset($_APPLICATION['online']))
$_APPLICATION['online']=0;
$_APPLICATION['online']++;
?>
There are <?=$_APPLICATION['online']?> customers visiting this site.
